Return to Ministries

As a nonprofit development and management organization, San Diego Interfaith Housing Foundation's aim is to target the segment of the San Diego County population not by market-rate housing development organizations.

SDIHF has built and manages several successful projects consisting of over 800 affordable units. Our role in these developments includes, but is not limited to, site identification and a project feasibility; negotiating purchase agreements; packaging and obtaining financing; managing the development team including selection of architect, engineers and contractors; construction management; and services to residents.

San Diego Interfaith Housing Foundation was established in 1969 as a practical ministry of several Christian denominations. These churches include the African Methodist Episcopal Churches of San Diego County, the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), METRO Department of San Diego District United Methodist Union, Presbytery of San Diego, Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), Roman Catholic Diocese of San Diego and the San Diego Association of The United Church of Christ.

The Foundation receives dedicated board members from these Christian church denominations. They are the backbone of the leadership of the organization providing wisdom through sound policy and strategy.
