It started with a pressing need and a visionary dream - unemployed Hispanic men met with Rev. Tom Simpson each week for a nourishing meal and a big helping of faith. Job listings and Bible studies led to a small congregation nesting at First Pres, which led to another dream - a church facility of their own and a full-throttled ministry to the Hispanic community.

Several small businesses have started up through the experience member have had in building and maintaining their church facility. With Rev. Simpson's retirement, the growing congregation is taking responsibility for their future. They've recently added a powerful outreach to teens, called Reality Changers. We've seen many kids who were failing in school and heading to gangs dramatically change direction through faith in Christ and one-on-one mentoring.
